Environment Policy
The Trans-Tasman Surfing Competition (TTSC) is managed by Island Style Promotions and its environmental and social sustainability is key to its operations, development and future for the local Gold Coast community and surfing culture globally.
We are proud to host the TTSC event at Kirra, Gold Coast which is just one of ten World Surfing Reserves, which has significant cultural, social and historical meaning to local people and surfers around the world.
TTSC will comply with all relevant legislation and regulations within the permit approved through the Gold Coast City Council and strive to achieve best practice in environmental and sustainability areas.
Special consideration has been given to promoting local businesses within TTSC and wherever possible, environmentally sustainable products and services will be sourced locally.
We encourage everyone associated with TTSC to present our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to our competitors, guests, visitors, suppliers, contractors, agents and sponsors.
We have a dedicated Environmental Officer involved in the set up and clean-up of the event site each day.
TTSC encourages our visitors and competitors to get involved with daily yoga workshops, beach clean-ups and various activities that address personal health and wellbeing programmes.
We also encourage sponsors to take an ecological approach, reducing the usage of single- use waste and utilising products that promote recycle or natural, less chemical-based options, such as sunscreens, surf wear and surfing accessories.
It is the responsibility of us all to protect the environment for our future generations.
