We are proud to host the TTSC event at Kirra, Gold Coast which is just one of ten World Surfing Reserves, which has significant cultural, social and historical meaning to local people and surfers around the world.

TTSC will comply with all relevant legislation and regulations within the permit approved through the Gold Coast City Council and strive to achieve best practice in environmental and sustainability areas.

Special consideration has been given to promoting local businesses within TTSC and wherever possible, environmentally sustainable products and services will be sourced locally.

We encourage everyone associated with TTSC to present our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to our competitors, guests, visitors, suppliers, contractors, agents and sponsors.

We have a dedicated Environmental Officer involved in the set up and clean-up of the event site each day.

TTSC encourages our visitors and competitors to get involved with daily yoga workshops, beach clean-ups and various activities that address personal health and wellbeing programmes.

We also encourage sponsors to take an ecological approach, reducing the usage of single- use waste and utilising products that promote recycle or natural, less chemical-based options, such as sunscreens, surf wear and surfing accessories.

It is the responsibility of us all to protect the environment for our future generations.

Photography Policy

Etiquette:

You are welcome to take photos and we request that you are respectful of the privacy of the general public, especially where younger competitors are concerned. It is essential that you ask parental permission and disclose the intended usage of the image.

Water Photography:

If you wish to shoot photography in the surf, please register prior to the heat with the Beach Marshal, who will be responsible for managing water photographers. Any unregistered photographers will be asked to leave the water. There will be a limit to three photographers in the water at any one time. We have media sponsors, who will have priority. Please keep well clear of all surfers.

Land Photography:

You are welcome to shoot from anywhere from land and vantage points. Off limit areas include the judging and commentary tents. Please ask the Beach Marshall if you are unsure.

Drone Photography:

Due to liability, licensing and various other concerns, you will need to contact the Event organisers prior to launching drones for photography purposes.

Image Sales:

We do not permit photography of individual competitors for commercial purposes, with the exception of work commissioned prior to the Competition for sponsors and/or publications. Freelance photographers may submit images to magazines, websites and sponsors after the event, but may not directly approach competitors for the purpose of sales or financial gain. If you are unsure of image usage, please feel free to contact us. We thank you for respecting this arrangement.

Sharing images on social:

While we have staff photographers providing much of our media photography, we would be stoked to share your images across our social media channels. We would be happy to promote your business with links and hashtags across our Instagram and Facebook network.

We cannot guarantee that your images will be shared, but we would endeavour to do the best we can, either during or post-event.
